(Post 38) Checkpoint 1- R+P Mark Scheme

These are some screenshots from Megan Lansdell's media blog and I think her work is at a Level 4 standard. She has included a detailed description of her character profiles and what all the different aspects mean and why she wants to create them.





These are some screenshots from lily ray's year 13 media blog. I have compared her work to my own and i feel like her work is at level 4. She has included in depth details of her plan or plot and filming.




Level 4 work involves:
- Planning and research evidence with be completed with detail
- There is excellent research into similar products and a potential target audience
- There is excellent work in shortlist, layouts, drafting, scripting or story board
- There is excellent organisation of actors locations costumes or props
- Time management is excellent
- There is excellent skill in the use of pf digital technology or oct in presentation
- There are excellent communication skills
- There is an excellent level of care in the presentation of the research and planning

We were given a task in groups of 2/3 to create a film poster in response to a ready made one from a previous film. Our poster was Rocky V: (this is the original) The one we made: We took some photos of Luke in the same position as the man in the Rocky V poster. We took a wide range and then selected the 2 most similar ones to the poster that we were given. We then moved them over to Photoshop and layered the two images over the top of an American flag, which was as similar to the original poster as possible. We then cut around the full body image, in order to get rid of the background of that photo in order to place it on top of the American Flag. Then we added the close up image of Luke behind the full body image. we put it all together, and in the end became a successful poster.

(Post 22) Forms and Conventions

The forms and conventions of a professional music video include many different aspects of video making which we'll try to conform to, but also challenge in some areas. In terms of camera angles, professionally made music videos tend to use a range of different shots such as close-ups, long-shots and mid-shots which all help create emphasis on the singer or band, the location they are in and the emotions their song is trying to bring across. Camera movements such as tilts, pans, tracking an crane shots all help follow and trace the artist. Most music videos have the performance of the artist as the main part of the video, sometimes a story is added to the performance, either enacted by an actor or the artist themselves. The transition between storyline and the performance of the artist is often created through the use of jump cuts or fade and dissolve effects, which allow sudden changes from one scene to another.
